DETAILS

Join Worksafe Managing Attorney, Jora Trang, to learn more about what the Trump Administration’s labor and employment policies may mean for California’s low income and immigrant workers.

We all know that California’s low income workforce is under assault. But what do we know about risks to workers’ bodies and their very lives? Worksafe has reported year after year that more Latino workers die proportionately than any other worker in our state. In fact, California has led the nation in Latino worker deaths. What does this mean when they are now working under an environment in which immigration retaliation is rampant? In our last report we also saw an alarming rise in deaths of African American and young workers.

Despite this, occupational health and safety is an often overlooked labor and employment right in law schools across the nation. Worksafe is trying to close that gap and ensure that social justice includes advocacy to safeguard the health and safety of everyone.

Come learn more about basic health and safety rights of workers, anticipated challenges under the Trump Administration, and what you can do to join the on-going campaigns around the nation and the state to protect vulnerable workers, communities and families.
