Description

With nearly 80% of the legal community now utilizing artificial intelligence tools, generative AI presents a massive opportunity to increase efficiency and help address the access to justice gap for under-resourced litigants. However, this technology also introduces unprecedented ethical and practical risks, particularly for legal aid lawyers handling sensitive client matters.

Join us for a critical webinar focused on crafting and implementing safe, effective internal AI use policies for legal aid practices. We explore the persistent problem of AI “hallucinations”—revealing why even premium, legally-tailored AI research tools from Westlaw and LexisNexis fabricate information between 17% and 33% of the time. We also examine recent cautionary tales of attorneys facing court sanctions for submitting fake and misleading AI-generated case citations without verification and what guidelines you and your office can take to avoid these pitfalls.

This training is intended to provide legal information, not legal advice, for the purposes of training only practicing attorneys. The legal information in this webinar is not intended to be a substitute for seeking personalized legal advice from an attorney licensed to practice in your jurisdiction.
