Description

In this presentation, Jeanne Nishimoto of the UCLA Veterans Legal Clinic will present on defending individual cases in traffic court. Her team has a staff attorney and certified law students who take these cases. Infraction defense may be of particular interest to advocates working with unhoused people who interact with law enforcement while they are looking for places to park their vehicles overnight. Following Grants Pass v. Johnson, it may be especially important for legal aid to build capacity in infraction defense.

Presenter: Jeanne Nishimoto, esq. from UCLA Veterans Legal Clinic
