A presentation on the recent history of courtroom interpretation. Professor Cozzens, who has also written about the history of California Rural Legal Assistance and legal representation of farmworkers, is a certified courtroom interpreter. He will discuss court interpretation in the United States from the perspectives of interpreters themselves and the individuals they try to serve. HIs work has also appeared as a chapter in Translating Past to Present: Interpreters in the American West and Beyond, available at the University of Nebraska Press.
