Description

Title IX has required equity in school sports for over 50 years now, and the California Fair Play Act has required equity in community youth sports for over 20, but female students and youth still face widespread inequities in sports access across California. This webinar will discuss the laws that mandate equal opportunity, treatment, and benefits for students at the K-12 and collegiate levels. We will also explore current developments in these areas in light of the recent Loper Bright Supreme Court decision, and the attack on trans girls in California.

Presenters: Elizabeth Kristen (Legal Director) and Julianna Gesiotto, (Staff Attorney) from California Women’s Law Center
