DETAILS
Federal and state law requires equal treatment, including adequate accommodations, for all pregnant and parenting students and employees in California, yet those who are pregnant and parenting are often discriminated against and unable to obtain the same education as their non-pregnant and parenting counterparts. Too often a school’s policies do not reflect the rights and protections required under the law. In 2020, following the success of our Los Angeles County Breastfeeding Report Card, CWLC took on the task of reviewing and improving the policies for pregnant and parenting students and employees at every K-12 school district in the state. This webinar will outline these important laws, review the results of our work, and discuss challenges we faced and solutions we have identified.
