Valencia Scott (she/her)

LawHelp Coordinator

Valencia joined LAAC in 2025. As the LawHelp Coordinator, she is responsible for managing the LawHelp site’s functionality, including resource and organization updates, analytics data, and search engine optimization. Her work also involves supporting community outreach and outreach to LAAC member organizations.    

She graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2020 with a B.A. in International Relations. Prior to joining LAAC, Valencia was a Marshall Scholar at Oxford University, where she earned her MSc in Criminal Justice (Law). 

Valencia is passionate about supporting access to justice, and was first inspired by her work with the UC Davis School of Law’s Civil Rights and Immigration clinics. She was recognized for her advocacy as the recipient of the Chancellor’s Aggie Hero Award in 2019, and the Beyond the Barriers Carceral Justice Award in 2020. She later went on to work in the California court system as a Judicial Fellow with California’s Capital Fellow’s Program, where she focused on the access to justice and community support needs for prison diversion programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. She continued to work with legal clinics as a Bonvero Human Rights Fellow in 2022, where she focused on immigration rights violations, labor trafficking, unlawful detention/deportation issues in the U.K. 

During her free time, you can find Valencia working on her pilates instructor certification, watching movies, or taking a walk in the park with her friends.
