
Rainer Apostol (they/them)
Rainer joined LAAC in November 2025 as a Senior Government Affairs Assistant and is pursuing their Master's in Social Welfare at UC Berkeley. Before returning to graduate school, they served in both the California State Assembly and Senate as a Capital Fellow and then Legislative Assistant from 2021-2024. They graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2021 with a B.A. in Political Science and B.A. in Ethnic Studies. They have interned and worked with a number of non-profit policy organizations, including the ACLU's Center for Advocacy and Policy, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, and Drug Policy Alliance.
Rainer is passionate about advancing economic, gender, LGBTQ+, and racial justice through their work and expanding equitable access to resources. In their free time, you can find Rainer trying a new coffee spot, exploring a new city, or attending a live music or theater performance.
