About Us

Counsel for Justice (CFJ) is a nonprofit legal services organization providing free civil legal assistance to LA County residents with a focus on survivors of domestic violence, immigrants, veterans, and tenants facing eviction. CFJ delivers legal services through a mix of staff-run programs and volunteer attorney clinics, working closely with community partners and the court. Our work is grounded in access to justice, collaboration, and respect for the people we serve.

Position Overview

Counsel for Justice (CFJ) seeks an Operations Manager to manage its internal operations, systems, and administrative infrastructure. This new position is a hands-on, manager-level role focused on strengthening the operational foundation that supports CFJ’s staff and programs. The Operations Manager reports to the Executive Director and is part of CFJ’s management team, working collaboratively with directors and managers across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day organizational operations and administrative infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain administrative and operational procedures
  • Manage office spaces, vendors, and service contracts, with attention to cost-effective use of resources
  • Serve as the primary staff contact for IT, HR and benefits consultants, supporting on- and offboarding
  • Oversee administrative communications, including incoming mail and general phone and email inquiries, ensuring communications are managed professionally and routed appropriately
  • Contribute an operational perspective to organizational planning as part of CFJ’s management team

  • Willingness to travel to CFJ’s administrative office and clinic locations as needed

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting or managing organizational operations in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage systems and administrative processes effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with low-income and vulnerable populations

 

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range: $75,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
  • CFJ operates on a standard 36.25 hour workweek, with flexibility based on organizational needs
