We are hiring a full-time Senior Staff Attorney to educate, advocate, and litigate with us to enforce child care providers’ and families’ rights and create new, equitable policies. Visit our website at www.childcarelaw.org to learn more.

 In this role, you will:

• Advocate for state and federal policies to win fair wages, housing and immigration protections for child care providers, and child care subsidies for families.
• Investigate and develop potential impact litigation to advance the civil rights of families and child care providers, especially in the areas of housing and child care subsidies and local zoning laws; support current litigation.
• Educate child care providers, parents, and legal aid attorneys in the areas of housing, subsidy, disability, and immigrant rights in child care settings.
• Answer child care legal questions through Child Care Law Center’s Information & Referral Service.

 Qualifications:              

• Member in good standing of the State Bar of California
• At least three years of legal experience
• Excellent legal writing and research skills
• Experience in one of these practice areas of law: government benefits, housing, land use/zoning, immigration, or disability rights
• Demonstrated interest or experience in racial justice and equity
• Capacity to manage and prioritize projects
• Must reside in the Bay Area and be able to work periodically from the Child Care Law Center office located in Albany, CA
• Proficiency in Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin is highly desirable

 Salary, Benefits, Work location:

The annual salary range for the full-time Senior Staff Attorney position is from $86,000 to $101,000, depending on experience. We offer benefits of paid health and dental insurance, retirement plan contributions, vacation, sick and family leave, and more. This is a hybrid work position.
