Advocacy

LAAC Interim Executive Director Salena Copeland, pictured here with Chief Justice Ronald George,
received the Bench-Bar Coalition award for Legal Services Provider of the Year
for her work advocating in Sacramento for legal services and the courts.

What is LAAC Advocacy?

The Legal Aid Association of California is a zealous advocate advancing the needs of legal services on a statewide level regarding funding and access to justice issues. Our advocacy policy details when we act. We welcome you to see highlights of our 2013 and 2012 efforts.

Know someone who would be the perfect judge?

There are many judicial vacancies in California (for more information, click here). LAAC encourages legal services attorneys to consider becoming judges and encourage your friends and pro bono colleagues to become judges. To see an updated list of judicial vacancies in California, click here. Email scopeland@laaconline.org if you'd like to be added to a group of folks who hope to support each other as they consider future judicial appointments or involvement in the JNE Commission.
