This program provides family law attorneys and social service advocates a knowledge base in veteran and military family characteristics and issues. Participants will learn how military service impacts spouses, children and family and can contribute to or impact substance abuse, mental health needs, domestic violence, financial and housing issues. The training improves providers’ approach and practice by teaching them to identify veteran or veteran family status, understand the issues particular to veterans and their families, and navigate veteran-specific resources in the community.
