Here are the main points of the presentation:

  • With California’s cash-out policy now reversed, seniors and people with disabilities who receive SSI are now able to receive CalFresh.
  • Many SSI recipients need to affirmatively apply for CalFresh.
  • Where an SSI recipient is part of a household that was already receiving CalFresh and adding the SSI recipient results in the household losing CalFresh benefits, the household may qualify for two new programs to help offset the loss.
