Dorsey Nunn, executive director of Legal Services for Prisoners With Children, has entered the national stage after the All of Us or None coalition successfully lobbied in 2013 for statewide “ban the box” legislation, which removed questions about felony convictions on city employment applications.

Nunn grew up in East Palo Alto, was sentenced to life in prison with possible parole in 1972, and began working for the Prison Law Office upon his release in 1981.

Nunn recently spoke with the Federal Interagency Reentry Council at the U.S. Department of Justice and is part of a national coalition for federal ban the box policies.
