The newly-opened Family Justice Center in Richmond will allows victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, and human trafficking to talk with a police officer, get a restraining order, and connect to social and legal services. Victims will be able to get help finding housing, vocational training, classes, and other services. Organizations such as Bay Area Legal Aid, Adult Protective Services, STAND! for Families Free of Violence, Rainbow Community Support and Familias Unidas, will all have permanent staff at the new center, greatly reducing the need to find referrals and track down service locations.
