Juvenile Re-entry and Integration
Youth Practice Group
SALARY RANGE: $57,585 – $77,169 DOE

Juvenile Re-entry and Integration Attorney will represent students with disabilities
as they reintegrate into their communities following contact with the juvenile
justice system, including juvenile detention or arrest. This Attorney would:
1) Provide direct representation to individual youth involved in the juvenile
justice system to advocate for the right to return to school and receive
appropriate supports and services to prevent or reduce the risk of
2) Investigate and document, as appropriate, the scope of the unlawful
patterns and practices which disproportionately affect intersectional
groups such as youth of color who have disabilities; and
3) Engage in advocacy work to stop the unlawful systemic practices that
deprive these high-risk youth of access to school and community-based
diversion programs and increase the risk of recidivism.
The Juvenile Re-entry and Integration Attorney will be hired as a Staff Attorney 1
in the Youth Practice Group. The Youth Practice Group represents students with
special needs in individual and systemic matters. Our priority is to advocate for
equal educational opportunities, access to services in the most integrated
settings and access to special education and supports.
Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree (JD) plus admission to the
California State Bar, plus 1-2 years’ experience.
