Regulatory Advocate

 

The California Low-Income Consumer Coalition (CLICC) seeks a well-qualified attorney for the position of Regulatory Advocate. The Advocate will provide legal representation for CLICC in matters before the California Public Utilities Coalition (CPUC) and other regulatory agencies as appropriate, such as the Contractors State License Board. The Advocate will review, draft, and file documents on behalf of CLICC in official CPUC proceedings. In addition, the Advocate will serve as liaison between CLICC and officials within the CPUC and other agencies, as well as with representatives of industries that are the subject of CPUC and other regulatory proceedings. Compensation for work in official CPUC proceedings will be determined on an hourly basis, per the Commission’s Intervenor Compensation Program and Rules of Practice.

The California Low-Income Consumer Coalition consists of thirteen nonprofit organizations across the state, all of which provide free legal services to indigent Californians. The coalition strives to ensure that all people, regardless of income, achieve their full potential. It does this by working to ensure that the voices of low-income consumers are heard at the State Capitol and within our regulatory agencies.
