HOUSING STAFF ATTORNEY
The Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc. (LASSD) has an immediate opening for a full-time Staff Attorney for its Housing team under the Sargent Shriver Civil Counsel Act Representation Project. Project is high volume unlawful detainer and appellate work. This position will be housed at our Midtown office.
Demonstrated capacity to maintain a large caseload which may include: Interviewing prospective clients; analyzing their legal problems; rendering legal advice; negotiation with opposing parties and agencies; preparing and submitting documents for clients; representing clients in various phases of litigation; attending community meetings; developing positive relationships with client communities; developing complex litigation; finding solutions to broader client problems through litigation; policy development or other strategies.
- Must be a member of the California State and Federal Bars.
- Must be able to relate to all segments of the client community and understand the objectives and purposes of poverty law.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, evidenced by submission of original legal written work.
- Valid California Driver’s License, automobile and auto insurance.

Starting Salary: $55,000 annually. Excellent benefits.
