Location: Santa Cruz, California
Job Duties: The Directing Attorney/Executive Director has overall responsibility for all aspects of the organization. They provide direct legal representation in judicial and administrative proceedings; supervises other attorneys, paralegals and clerical staff; is responsible for all personnel matters including hiring staff and salary decisions; writes grant applications, lobbies for funds and otherwise ensures that adequate funds are raised annually to finance the agency’s operations; and advises the Board of Directors on issues of policy, planning and evaluation of the agency’s services.
Qualifications: Active membership in the California State Bar;
Litigation experience; Direct client service experience; Familiarity with Elder Law issues; and Sensitive to needs of elderly clients
Preferred: Grant writing experience;
Experience in administration of funds; Personnel/Management experience; and Bilingual Spanish/English
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience and success with grant writing.
