The Office of the State Public Defender are hiring lawyers with experience in building social movements and/or public defense backgrounds
If you have a background in social movement lawyering and/or public defender work, this job is for you! We are looking to hire a diverse group of lawyers with different skill sets, such as administration of grants, building programs for recruitment and retention in rural areas, starting statewide movements for reform, training attorneys in public defender units, understanding the legislative process, and more! We are a team of lawyers dedicated to improving and strengthening public defense work throughout California. Job can be done from anywhere in California, as it is a telework assignment.
