For this year’s pride month, Justice in Aging has something to add to the celebrations. Hundreds of low-income married LGBTQ individuals who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will no longer have to worry about the Social Security Administration (SSA) going after them for thousands of dollars they shouldn’t owe and can’t afford to pay. Join Worksafe, Street Level Health Project, and Centro Legal de la Raza Thursday, April 28th, 2016 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for their Workers Memorial Day Event in Downtown Oakland where they will call upon workers, unions, advocates, allies, and government agencies to join them in honoring those who have lost their lives at work.
