Model Approaches Grant
California's Model Approaches grant is a 3-year grant from the federal Administration on Aging shared by the Legal Aid Association of California, the California Department of Aging, the Senior Legal Hotline, and OneJustice. Through this grant, we are working to bridge the gap between the needs of elders in California and the current legal system's ability to meet those needs, target the most needy among the state’s huge, diverse population, and reduce serious disparities in the existing availability of legal help.
Recently, LAAC published a series of studies, linked here. Many of you have worked with us on one or more of these assessments--thank you so much for your participation. We could not have completed these projects without your expertise.
Why we're involved:
Because LAAC serves in a statewide coordination role, we are particularly well-placed to assess the statewide system’s ability to address the legal needs of older Californians.
Meetings
The Model Approaches partners have convened both statewide and regional meetings for advocates serving older Californians.
